為人師表多敗類 教育產業出怪胎
A monstrous education policy would only breed scum in the teaching sector
嶺大持續進修學院一名男助理講師在課堂上足本播放三級電影《色．戒》，並重複播放床戲。校方及教育局先後收到投訴，更有學生家長要求嚴懲「教學敗類」。
就事論事，今次學生及家長投訴絕非無理取鬧。首先，堂上不少學生尚未成年，為人師表者安排他們看三級電影，不啻知法犯法。其次，有關課程旨在培訓幼稚園教師，觀看三級電影根本文不對題、毫無必要。涉事教師聲稱想藉此提升學生中文水平，卻集中分析性愛動作，不能不令人質疑別有用心。不管從哪方面看，其安排都是很有問題的。
私立大專院校亂象叢生，今次「三級門」只是冰山一角。近年專上院校不斷濫開課程、濫收學生，教學質素每況愈下，早前嶺大轄下兩間社區學院被揭瘋狂收生八千二百多人，較前一年激增逾兩倍。事件曝光後，嶺大校長、社區學院院長先後請辭，聊以挽救校譽。然而教學水平依然一蹶不振，亂象依然發生，足證這不是個別人的問題，而是體制問題，教育政策一日不改，死結更永遠無法解開！
一節見而百節知，嶺大持續進修學院安排學生看三級電影，反映香港的私立大專院校沙石俱下，教育產業儼已淪為誤人子弟的「教育慘孽」，不知如何收拾。
An assistant lecturer at Lingnan Institute of Further Education screened a full version of the Category III film Lust, Caution during a class, and repeatedly played the sex scenes therein. Both the Institute and the Education Bureau received complaints against the teacher. Parents of some of the students even called for serious punishment to be imposed on the“scum of the teaching sector”.
If we take a close look at the matter, the complaints from students and parents are not unreasonable. First of all, many students in the class are under 18. The lecturer knowingly violates the law by arranging for them to watch a Category III movie. Secondly, the class was part of a training course for kindergarten teachers. Watching a Category III film has nothing to do with the subject and was utterly unnecessary. The lecturer claimed that he was trying to raise the students' Chinese-language standard. However, his intention is questionable as he asked the students to focus on analyzing the sexual movements between the protagonists. From whatever viewpoint, his arrangement is problematic.
Private tertiary institutions have been making a mess lately.The “Category III film gate” is just the tip of the iceberg. In recent years, tertiary institutions have been running programmes and recruiting students indiscriminately, compromising the quality of teaching. Earlier on, it was discovered that two community colleges under Lingnan University have recklessly enrolled over 8,200 students, an increase of more than 200% when compared with the previous year. After the incident was exposed, the heads of Lingnan University and the community colleges resigned, trying in vain to rescue the schools' reputation. But these private institutions have been unable to recover their teaching quality, and their problems linger. It illustrates that the problem goes far beyond one individual lecturer; the whole system is sick. As long as the education policy remains unchanged, the Gordian knot will never be cut.

It reflects how low the quality some tertiary education programmes can be, and how the education sector can harm the younger generation. Who is going to pick up the pieces?
