加拿大日裔遺傳學家、法學、哲學博士兼環保人士大衞˙鈴木說：「因為全球經濟的競爭本質，那些大公司通常只關注一件事—最底線。即是，最大盈利，不顧社會和環境要付出多少代價。」*

毒奶粉、飲料中的塑化劑、化妝品中的水銀或有害化學品、發霉月餅、黑心棉禦寒產品、豆腐渣工程建築、貴賣孕婦床位、教育商品化、買賣人體器官……統統是聖雄甘地口中的「無道德的商業」。可是，如今社會上應有盡有，令人痛心疾首。
